ABOUT

I'M A MIDWESTERN GAL

 ... be outdoors ...breathe...

Nature is awesome... feeling the sun on my face, the light autumn breeze and to experience the changing seasons. I share my wild game recipes, pics, gun stuff, and successes and not-so-many hunting and fishing, my grandkids and unpolitically correct opinions. Not just a hobby -- I'm all about gardening, fishing and hunting, diy'er/hammer-gangster, raising chickens and enjoying my retirement years with my hubby and my Pointer, Rocky. By my side, his black nose poking into every bush, other little critters poked their nose there first. Occasionally, one of the grandkids shares a day learning to sit still, hunting or fishing, handling chickens or pulling those pesky weeds out of the green beans garden...

I get on my occasional soapbox about healthy living and cancer inhibiting foods as a breast cancer survivor, but I really love just clicking pics of scenery, bees, deer, fishing... you get the 'picture'. LoL

Wisdumb stuff

Nature sustains itself; nonetheless, responsible management warrants our stewardship of the environment. Real wilderness is invincible and unforgiving; but the land gives and God gives to who humbly makes the choice to put forth real effort into preserving it. I share deep pride with other outdoor enthusiasts who feel duty-bound to conserve our natural resources, who believe that conservation benefits the next generation as well.

I can imagine Mother Nature laughs at our many hapless attempts to be altruistically, morally, and so damn politically correct. Idealism is not my dynamic. I'm part artist, part biologist ... I try to capture scenes of nature on my little iOS6 In my pocket.

Not a politician, just a firm believer of our guardianship of Mamma Nature, and the sanctity of the Constitution of the United States. As Americans, the Right to Bear Arms, our freedom is a biggie to me. Boating is peaceful and exciting, taking the views than speeding on the water. See my YouTube channel.
Photos are fundamental for us to understand our environment. I'm just an amateur shutterbug, havin' a lil' fun making vids.

I grew up in central Iowa, not reveling in the many Kansas City fountains, Country Club Plaza's artsy shoppes, the newly renovated Truman Library, nor such picturesque wildlife, as caught on our trailcam.

Family experiences and unchef-like eats, we all eat what we catch, kill or grow.
My generation; a girl's chore was pulling weeds and picking ripe green beans, tomatoes and all assundry of berries, veggies and fruit. This blog is centered on the gardener, fisherwoman, hunter-me/grandma, an old-fashioned, stubborn, get-y-hands-dirty Midwest-lifestyle. Now retired from corporate, I'm hopefully, occasionally showing the younger set. You won't read politics here -- just typical year 'round outdoorsy stuff.
